Information we use

• Access requests and accounts. The contact details, organization, use case and other information you submit help us review your request, manage access and provide support.
• Queries and service records. We process the indicators you search, your account permissions and quota, and technical records such as IP addresses, request times and errors to deliver and protect the service.
• Selected files. File hashing happens in your browser. The file and its name are not uploaded by the file search tool; only its SHA-256 hash is sent for lookup.

Please avoid including passwords, personal information or confidential URL parameters in searches or application messages.

How information is shared

Requests may be handled by staff and providers supporting hosting, email delivery, security and threat intelligence lookups. A lookup may send the queried indicator to an external intelligence source to retrieve additional results. Your recent-view list is not published to other visitors.

Access forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam. Map views use external map and software providers. These services receive technical information, such as your IP address and browser request data, when loaded.

We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to address abuse and protect the service. Submitting an access request does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies support connected API access, secure forms and sign-in sessions. When you connect an API key, it is stored in an encrypted browser cookie and used by our server to make your authorized queries.

Browser storage remembers your theme, view preferences, recent reports and investigations you choose to save. Recent reports remain on that browser until cleared, including when you switch API keys. Someone using the same browser profile may be able to see them.

This website does not use advertising or audience analytics trackers. To manage stored information, disconnect your key on the API key page, clear recent reports on Search, or remove this site's data in your browser settings. Blocking storage may disable these features.

Retention and security

We keep information as needed to review requests, maintain accounts, provide the service, address abuse and meet applicable obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and your relationship with us. We use safeguards to protect access and data; no system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and contact

Contact service@virussign.com to ask about your information or request access, correction or deletion. Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights, including objection or restriction of processing. We may need to verify your identity and retain certain records to meet legal or security requirements.

We may update this notice as the service changes. The date above identifies the latest version.
